NOLA & THE PO-BOY

NOLA is an acronym for New Orleans, LouisianA. It’s also an abbreviation used to refer to a Hurrican Katrina refugee who has been relocated to other areas and has caused an increase in crime.

The word NOLA can be found in different places around the city: bars, souvenirs stores, restaurants.. but it’s not common that people outside the US understand the meaning of it.

The Po-boy, a traditional sandwich from NOLA, is a shortened version of “poor boy”. The name stems from the fact that a po-boy used to be a very inexpensive way to get a very solid meal.

Let’s enjoy NOLA and it's po-boys!

  1. Hi Hebe,

I like that you see that NOLA is now an acronym for New Orleans! We are very proud of being from NOLA here. :) It looks like you took most of these pictures, but not all of them. Try to only post pictures that you took yourself.
